One of the finest Beatles' numbers with a beautiful coda.

Once I heard a version where the backwards ending was considerably longer than the one on the LP -- does anyone know which version this might be?

That's the unedited rough mix of an overdub on take 8 (which ran around 9:40) - it was included on Yellow Dog's Ultimate Collection I Disc 3.

Apropos of nothing: I must be the only person in existence who thinks that it's just Mal Evans doing the "la la" chanting, not any of the others. For one, it's so obvious to me voice-wise, but for another - it's a Beatles instrumental, so doesn't it make sense that they wouldn't sing on it?
